Cappadocia Accommodation - Special ClassEver dreamed of staying in a cave-hotel with all mod cons? You may make it come true with the famous Kelebek Hotel, is located in the old, upper part of Goreme, less than five minutes' walk from the town center. Kelebek Hotel has a wonderful location, right in the heart of Goreme's historic old village, with spectacular views looking out towards Uchisar and Cavusin. In medieval times the rooms in the top of the two chimneys served as simple chapels for local hermits; one of them even has a frescoed cross on the ceiling. Later used by the local family to raise pigeons, store grapes, even to house a small library. Today Kelebek -the Butterfly in English- has 31 rooms, some of them in the fairy chimneys, some in caves and some of them in the traditional arched rooms where my family used to live. The rooms are divided into six categories: Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Suites, King Suites and Presidential Suites.

•Turkish Bath; also known as hamam or hammam, is one of the ancient world's most widely exported customs. This tradition was born generations ago, adopted from Romans and Byzantines and then perfected by the Seljuk and Ottoman Turks and has continued even until today. At Kelebek, we have converted one of our caves to a fascinating Turkish Bath with sauna. Our masseurs are not only expert at Turkish massage. They will offer you different types of massages from all around the world. •Swimming Pool
This year, we have also added a small swimming pool to Kelebek. It is an open pool without heating. The ground is covered with mosaics showing the world map of famous Turkish sailor Piri Reis. This map was drown in 1513 and it is the first map in history showing America continent. |
