Biber Evi (Chili-pepper House) is a restored stone house in the old village of Assos (Behramkale) which faces the island of Lesvos and Gulf of Edremit. The house is said to have once been owned by a rich man in the village, who made his wealth by exporting acorns. He had three daughters, for each of whom he built a separate house, but this house was his own. Biber Evi is owned and run by a nice English lady whose name is Jacqui. This classy and romantic little place has only 6 rooms, which are decorated in Ottoman style with hand-carved furniture and wood paneling, have private toilet and shower and are non-smoking. The terrace, where you can see a spectacular sunset, and the garden, are for the use of the hotel guests only.

| This select hotel has six comfortable double/twin rooms – including two family rooms with an additional single bed.
Each is uniquely decorated with Selcuk and Ottoman style handcrafted wood furniture and panelling, and has all the facilities of modern-day living and comfort. As the rooms were built and decorated with rescued old timber, there is a no-smoking policy to prevent a risk of fire.
The shower rooms all have heated tiled floors and handmade, traditional Iznik style ceramic border tiles incorporating the chilli theme on the walls.

| Biber Evi's restaurant offers a special menu and wine list for connoisseurs with breads baked in the village oven and fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden whenever possible.
There is a small gift shop with the "chili" theme where you can buy gifts, home-made chili jams, chutneys and oils. Some guests rise early to climb to the Temple of Athena and enjoy the dawn to the sound of goats' bells. From here you can also walk down to the ancient fishing harbor, where there are restaurants, shops and a small beach.
